What local church do you pastor?

I am a pastor at Sovereign Grace Church Gilbert, Arizona.

How long have you been a pastor?

I've been a pastor for going on 7 years. I graduated from the Pastor's College in 2009 and have been at Sovereign Grace Gilbert ever since.

Jason HansenHow long have you been a part of Sovereign Grace?

I came to Sovereign Grace in January, 2005 from East Valley Bible Church in Tempe, AZ (now Grace Bible Church) where I was on staff as the worship leader. We were a small church plant that had gotten to know of Sovereign Grace Ministries through John Piper and had become friends with the Gilbert elders. I had a desire for full-time pastoral ministry and after speaking with the elders of the church decided that moving over the Sovereign Grace Gilbert with the intention of pursuing training at the Pastor's College was a wise decision. We've been here ever since.

Which churches are in your region?

Sovereign Grace Church (Pasadena, CA), Sovereign Grace Church (Orange, CA), Sovereign Grace Church (Tucson, AZ), Sovereign Grace Church (Gilbert, AZ), Grace Church (Peoria, AZ), Grace Community Church (Westminster, CO), Sovereign Grace Church (Aurora, CO), and for the time being, Iglesia Gracia Soberana de Cd. Juárez (Juarez, MX) and Iglesia Cristiana Gracia Soberana de Aguascalientes (Aguascalientes, MX).

What is your vision for your region?

I'd like our region to continue to grow in how depend on one another for relational fellowship and care. We have a wealth of experience and gifting in the West that has been a source of encouragement and help to one another and I'd love for this continue to grow and blossom. I'd also love to see us continue to grow in how we think about untapped areas of our region including Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, and Northern California. There are many opportunities to see the gospel go forward to those who need to have their eyes and ears open to the good news of Jesus Christ.

What are the pastors in your region excited about?

In terms of the individual local churches, I know that each guy is excited about seeing their congregations grow in the knowledge and application of Jesus Christ and Him crucified. To help their members to work out their salvations with fear and trembling while trusting that God is at work in them, both the will and to work for his good pleasure (Philippians 2:12-13).

From a regional perspective, the guys are excited about building together, continued fellowship, seeing church plants and adoptions in the West, and partnering together in the calling to which we've been called as pastors.
